Scientifica Visit

On Thursday 15th March we were lucky enough to be visited by Tamsin Jordan and Chloe Emmerson from Scientifica, an Uckfield company that specialises in developing premium scientific equipment to enhance the research of neurons, neuronal circuits and animal behaviour. Tamsin gave a wonderfully interesting talk to our Yr 10 Triple Science students in order to promote Brain Awareness Week. The talk was based primarily on questions that the students had sent in regarding brain function, disorders and discovery of function. It was a wonderful learning opportunity combining curricular, extra curricular and knowledge of local business.

A bit about Scientifica: Since 1997, Scientifica has distributed and developed premium scientific equipment to enhance the research of neurons, neuronal circuits and animal behaviour. Over the years, their product range has expanded to include instruments for electrophysiology, multiphoton imaging and optogenetics studies.

For two decades Scientifica has employed experience, collaboration and superior design to empower researchers to discover the brain’s secrets and overcome neurological diseases.

Many thanks to Tamsin and Chloe for their visit and inspirational talk.
