Careers Plus
Here at Uckfield College we have professionally qualified Careers Advisors and a dedicated Careers Office. Our senior Careers Leader is Sara Marshallsay, Deputy Principal. To request a meeting with the careers team please email careers@uckfield.college. Our Provider Access Policy can be viewed here.
Students are given extensive resources to support them with their career choices and the careers department works closely with Directors of Year and tutors to support students to make choices about their future. Most of the information here is aimed to inspire our students. Further information can be found for Parents, Teachers and Employers.

Our Careers provision starts in Year 7 and extends through to Year 13. Careers education is provided through a combination of drop-down Careers and PSHCE days, Life Learning lessons and careers events (such as visiting speakers and careers fairs). The careers education programme works alongside Personal Development Time sessions and Mentoring to help our students to build a view of themselves and the outside world. In year 10 students complete one week of work experience, focusing on their future career aspirations and in year 11 students have 1:1 interviews with the Sixth Form Team plus careers fairs and careers education during tutor time. Sixth Form students have dedicated careers education days, employer visits, work experience and future focused assemblies. A more detailed outline of the careers education programme is available here.
Career planning is an ongoing process. The world of work continually changes and as a student develops throughout their time with us, their preferences and strengths change or become more refined. We encourage students to engage in continuous independent exploration of career opportunities and as well as providing bespoke resources to support their ongoing future planning we encourage the use of the excellent online resources listed below:
