Well done to three of our Year 8 students from 8C, Rosanna Walker-Smith, Melissa Beavenand Esme Dawson, who took part in an RS project.  They decided to raise money and help the local community and planned three separate events.  Uckfield FM found out about this and they were all interviewed last Wednesday live on the radio.

In case you missed the reports and interviews on Uckfield FM we have provided links below.

Southern Schools Book Awards: Report by Octavia Marshall, from Year 8

"On Friday evening, we had the amazing opportunity of attending the Southern Schools Book Award Presentation at Roedean School in Brighton. We had to read five books aimed at year 9s and we got to vote on which book should win the Southern Schools Book Award. Lisa Heathfield won with her book Paper Butterflies. Juno Dawson got highly commended with Margot and Me. After the authors had talked and read a section from their books, the winner was announced and one student from each school was asked to come on the stage to collect the book tokens. We then went to back stage to buy our books and then we had the opportunity to get them signed by Holly Bourne, presenter and winner of the SSBA last year, Chris Riddel, who did drawing throughout the presentation and the shortlisted authors (except from the author of the Hypnotist as he couldn't come). The authors were:

Juno Dawson (Margot and Me)

Lisa Heathfield (Paper Butterflies)

Tamsyn Murray (Instructions for a Second- Hand Heart)

Alan Gibbons (The Trap)

Laurence Anholt)"

Well done to Lucy Harris in 7U who passed her Royal Academy of Dance Grade 3 Ballet exam with a Distinction.

Lucy dances with Debs Dancers and does Tap, Ballet and Modern. She is now busy rehearsing for the annual dance show that will be held at the Hawth theatre in Crawley and also her Tap exam in March.

Following our exciting news last week regarding the success of Joolz Earley and her cheerleading team, the Zodiac Allstars, we were delighted to see newspaper coverage helping them raise money needed to help them get to Orlando.

Joolz is now in training for the events; here is a short video clip of Joolz working hard on her tumbles !

As always we would love to hear from you if you have news of any achievements by our students in activities out of College.  Please email details to t.fletcher@uckfield.college.
