Catering at Uckfield College
At Uckfield College, we understand the importance of healthy, balanced nutrition in supporting students’ physical and mental well-being. That’s why we are committed to providing high-quality, nutritious, and great-value food for all students and staff.
Our Catering Service
Our catering is provided by Pabulum, with Chris Lucas as our Executive Chef Manager. Meals are served in the main Refectory, catering pods, and the Sixth Form café.
Dining Experience
- The Refectory offers a comfortable space for students to enjoy meals with their friends, with seating areas allocated by year group.
- Year 7 students have a dedicated service point for ease of access, alongside a Year 7 garden area.
- We offer two hot meal options daily, served on a plate with vegetables and free fruit.
- ‘Choose and go’ options—including sandwiches, hot snacks, desserts, and drinks—are available at various locations.
Main hot meal price: £3.00 (includes vegetables and free fruit).
Cashless Payment System
We operate a cashless catering system through ParentPay. Parents and Carers can top up their child’s account online.
- Daily spend limit: £7.00 (adjustable upon request via finance.info@uckfield.college).
Queues & Lunchtime Experience
We work hard to ensure that all students can access meals efficiently and safely. Queue lengths may vary depending on the day and menu, but staff are always on hand to manage flow and ensure that every student has time to eat and socialise.
Hydration and Packed Lunches
- Water bottle refill stations are available across the school site.
- Students are welcome to bring a packed lunch and can enjoy it in the Refectory or their designated Year Group garden area.
